Over the years Artvine Paint & Sip has had tremendous support from local Restaurants, Wineries, Hotels & Pubs co-hosting at these incredible Venues in our Nelson, Tasman and the Queenstown regions since we started in our Restaurant near Queenstown almost 20 years ago.  Our vision continues to be to bring Art Experiences to our mutual guests who seek social interaction in an inclusive environment, providing companionship, creativity, engagement with others, to learn a new skill, discover a talent and re-ignite a love of the visual arts. 

To offer our support to our co-hosts in this new era of social connection, by bringing you, our mutual guests to their incredible venues, including award winning Wineries throughout New Zealand on our "Paint & Sip Summer Winery Tour".   Some of our Venue Partners offer romantic views from waterfront balconies out to the sea and lakes for our "Date Night" Paint & Sip Events or a glorious sunset spot to sip champagne with your girlfriends. 

Historic restaurants and pubs with historical flavour to match their delicious food offer "Beers & Blokes" a unique activity where the lads get together to "bond & build stuff" a great Sunday afternoon session.  Vibrant inner city and downtown eateries with live music, outdoor parks, festivals, easels, canvases, wine, craft beers and good times!

Our Artvine Artists are creatives who love to offer you artistic and helpful guidance throughout your Art Experience, be it a 2 hour event, creative workshop, weekend retreat or private event.  As a Full Time Professional Artist, Lyndal, the Founder of Artvine oversees the events around the country and is the Artist guiding the Summer Winery Tour again this year into 2026.

Gibbston Valley Winery - Queenstown

We are beyond thrilled to announce our collaboration with Gibbston Valley Winery near Queenstown and Artvine Paint & Sip as part of our exciting "Art in the Vines" Summer Tour as we explore and paint the works of the "Old Masters" during our "Masterpiece Series".  We continue to embark on our journey to blend our "Art Experiences" with award winning wines, delicious cuisine and outstanding experiences at spectacular Venues in our beautiful native New Zealand.  Gibbston Valley Winery is located 25 minutes from Queenstown, and home to New Zealand’s largest wine cave and the region's oldest vineyards. The first vineyard was planted in the 1980's recognising the potential of Gibbston Valley.

The Boathouse Restaurant - Nelson

Situated over the sea on the picturesque Nelson Haven, The Boathouse is a whole lot more than an historic building full of history and a big part of the local community the venue also opens its doors as a cafe, music venue, club, community hall and function venue.

The Boathouse opens Wednesday through to Friday for relaxed brunch and lunch dining with a stunning backdrop of the Nelson Haven, Haulashore Island, The Boulder Bank and mountain ranges.  Friday evenings are all about music with the cafe re-opening at 5pm for dinner, drinks and dancing with live music. During weekends and evenings the venue is occupied by functions, events and community groups.  On a Sunday the building takes a rest from being a business and members have run of the building with families often seen lunching on the deck, throwing celebrations in the hall or out in the small craft.

 

Moutere Hills Restaurant & Cellar Door - Upper Moutere/Nelson

     

Moutere Hills Restaurant & Cellar Door offers a fabulous dining experience with dishes prepared using mainly local ingredients. The restaurant is in idylic location overlooking the vines and neighbouring hops.

If you are interested in having a function, wedding or just a relaxing afternoon with friends, please contact mhrestaurant@outlook.co.nz. Full catering is provided for weddings (tailored to your needs or budget).  For transportation to and from Nelson, Motueka and surrounds, a bus service can be arranged through the likes of Bromells Coachlines, Nelson Coachlines or any of the other bus services offered in the region.

Cellar Door - The cellar door/tasting room is open the same hours as the restaurant. Many of the wines are sold exclusively through the cellar door and/or online through this website. There is comprehensive range of Moutere Hills boutique wines available including Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Viognier, Rose, Gewurztraminer, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Montepulciano, Syrah, Sparkling and a dessert ice wine. 

The tasting room operates from the restaurant where you can sample wines on offer before choosing the perfect match for your food.
