Painting Workshop at Red Gallery & Cafe - June 26th

This week we are Painting - let's do our version of Claude Monet's Water Lillies!  Your very own Masterpiece hanging in your home!  

Artvine Painting and Creative Workshops are here in the heart of Nelson at the vibrant Red Gallery & Cafe.  Almost every Thursday from 11am-1pm and pre-bookings on our website are essential.  Whilst we would love to have a "pop in" policy, we do need to know how many people are attending for our equipment & materials.  Our activities change every session so you can be guaranteed lots of fun!

Claude Monet's "Water Lilies" series! It's a truly iconic collection of approximately 250 oil paintings that the French Impressionist artist created during the last 30 years of his life. They depict his flower garden at his home in Giverny, and are among his most popular works.

Monet's "Water Lilies" are celebrated for their loose brushwork and innovative composition. The artist was deeply inspired by his own garden, and he sought to capture the interplay of light, water, and vegetation in his paintings. He built a water garden "for the purpose of cultivating aquatic plants," he once said, and it served as his muse for these works.

The "Water Lilies" series is a great example of Monet's commitment to painting the natural world as he perceived it, often painting the same scene multiple times to capture the changing of light and the passing of the seasons.

Canvases are always pre-drawn so you can get straight to painting. Order a coffee, speciality tea and a scrumptious bagel or lunch to enjoy at the break.

We will also be having lots of fun with texture paste, some sign workshops, jewellery making and even some air dry clay!
